Southgate Public School is proud to announce that Tingting Wang, our Mandarin Chinese teacher, has been selected as the March Staff Member of the Month. We asked her to share a little about herself:
"Southgate holds a very special place in my heart as it is my first teaching home in the United States. Having taught in both China and Canada, I’ve always aimed to bring a global perspective to my classroom, but it is here at Southgate that I have gained a much deeper understanding of American culture and community.
I absolutely love sharing the beauty of the Chinese language and culture with my students and watching their curiosity grow every day. Seeing their faces light up when they master a new phrase or understand a cultural tradition is what makes teaching so special to me.
My favorite part of being at Southgate is the incredibly supportive environment. Whether it's in the classroom or collaborating with my wonderful colleagues, I feel so lucky to be part of such a close-knit community.
