Southgate Public School is proud to announce that Mrs. Tammy McAtee, our fourth grade teacher, has been selected as the October Staff Member of the Month. We asked her to share a little about herself:
"This is my 22nd year as a teacher and 12th year at Southgate. I'm currently teaching fourth grade but previously taught third grade and first grade here at Southgate. Prior to that, I spent eight years teaching middle school as well as three years teaching Reading Intervention in another district. I graduated from Western Kentucky University and then continued to Northern Kentucky University where I got my master's degree as a Reading Specialist. I'm currently working on my Rank I with a continued focus on teaching reading.
I'm so thankful to be a part of the amazing team here at Southgate that truly supports one another in every capacity. Southgate is such a special and unique school that goes above and beyond to help all students and staff learn and grow each and every day.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy walking, reading, and spending time with my husband and our three kids as well as our dog. "
